Lawyers of St. Petersburg businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin have drafted a bill on the nationalization of foreign companies in Russia and appealed to the State Duma with a proposal to consider it.
The press-service of Concord has published the text of the bill “On turning to the state property of foreign persons, connected with foreign unfriendly states, which make unfriendly actions towards Russian Federation, Russian legal entities and physical persons and on making changes to article 235 of the Civil code of Russian Federation” on the official account of the VK company.
Thanks to this, the document, which was considered to the consideration to the chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, can be carefully studied by all Russians and make sure that it is in full compliance with Russian law.
“It should be noted that this proposal met with broad approval of the Russian people, as it is a proportionate response to the infringement of the rights and freedoms of Russian citizens and domestic companies by foreign unfriendly states,” said the Concord press service.
Vyacheslav Volodin himself made a proposal in his Telegram channel to confiscate the businesses of companies from states unfriendly to Russia. He underlined the need to mirror Russia's response to the freezing of the country's foreign currency reserves and the confiscation of its property.
The Chairman of the State Duma stressed that the U.S. law allowing the transfer of Russian assets to Ukraine is a dangerous precedent, “which should backfire the States themselves.”
